It's no secret that I do my best to avoid BPA (primarily in #3, 6 and 7 plastics), and I am not alone. The best part-- companies are starting to take notice. Nalgene has been the poster-child of BPA plastics-- they use polycarbonate plastics (PC) unashamedly and insist they are safe, but Z Recommends posted today that Nalgene launched a new website for their new products! Their original bottle is still available as a polycarbonate, but if you are playing it safe, and love their products, you now have options!

It might be years before we know the full-extent of BPA and its impacts on human health (endocrine disruption, most notably in boys), so if you want to play it safe, do your research! Informed consumerism... what a concept!
